First Meeting and already a blog?

Technically the Blog was set up weeks ago but this is our first week and as such here is our first post.

Tonight was our first meeting and at about 27 strong it was a full house. A big thanks to Bob and Mary for opening up their home and committing to lead us thru the next 10 weeks or so.

As Bob and Mary host the group in their home I (Chuck) will endeavor to keep up the web side of things. Now the internet has no feelings so if you aren't techno savvy or just have no desire to get the internet involved in home group that is fine. The goal here is to provide another avenue of communication between the members of our group and act as an accumulation point for resources.

What you can expect to see here in the next few weeks.

• Calendar - I'll post a calendar of events and make it available as a Google calendar to anyone who would like to subscribe.
• Study Material - Weekly links to the Desiring God website as well as other resources
• Notes - I will try to distill some of the discussion points from each week and post them here.
• Comments and Discusson - I have made this page public so anyone can read and comment. Members and non-Members alike. Which brings me to my next point.
• Resources - I'll be the resource aggregator, I'd like to compile a list of teachers, books and other interesting things here. (See the link bar to the right)
  

What you won't see here.

• Contact Info (other than email addresses) - so no phone numbers or addresses other than the Church or public venues.
  
• Private anything - nothing should be posted that would violate the trust and respect of anyone in our group. If we wouldn't share it with a stranger on the street you won't find it here.
  
• Prayer requests - these will surely go out in email and on the hearts of our members so no need to publish them
  

Participation and distribution

• Comments - anyone may comment on a post and opt in to receive emails when a response is posted
• Authorship - All members are welcome to post their thoughts and ideas here, simply email what you'd like to post to hayhomegroup.quickpost@blogger.com.
• Updates - I can set anyone up to receive an email when the site is updated (just let me know if you would like to receive these emails)

I look forward to getting to know all of you better and learning more about what it means to live life for Christ, together.
